Llwydcoed Mini Football Tournament
Congratulations again to the Cwmaman Under 11's who won the Llwydcoed Under 11's, Ronnie Williams memorial shield on Saturday the 11th July. This was their second tournament win of the summer after already winning the League tournament at Caedrawnant.
In a first round group of 7 teams, Cwm topped the group after winning their opening 5 games without conceding a single goal and finished their group games with a hard fought 1-1 draw with Tynte Rovers after going 1-0 down.
Cwm then progressed to a final group of 4 teams which included Wesley Rovers, Llwydcoed A & Band Club.
In their first game they came against a physically bigger team in Wesley Rovers but Cwmaman took the game to Rovers and dominated throughout without being able to score the all important goal and the game ended 0-0 while the game on the other pitch ended 1-1 between Coed A and Band Club.
Next up was Coed A who Cwm had previously beaten 2-0 in the first group. Cwm started the stronger and deservedly took the lead but unfortunately conceded a late goal and the game ended 1-1. In the other game Band Club beat Wesley Rovers 1-0.
Cwm went into their final game against Band Club knowing they had to win by a couple of goals and at least better Coed's result on the adjacent pitch. Our boys took on their task keenly and continued their excellent form with a convincing 3-0 win and after waiting for the result on the adjacent pitch which Wesley Rovers won 1-0, this was enough to give the winning shield to the jubilant Cwmaman youngsters.
Cwm played 9 games in total conceding just 2 goals along the way, therefore deservedly winning in their final games at this age group.
The winning team who deserve all the credit were:-
Owyn Flook, Callum McGrath, Lewys Nott, Josh Jones, Dannie Nash, Jessie James, Joshua Boggis, Callum Jenkins, McCauley Cole & Kieran Thomas.

Fun Day Tournament - Champions
Under 11’s Football Tournament – Caedrawnant 25th April 2009
Congratulations and a big thank you to all Under 11 players who helped the club WIN the tournament at Caedrawnant on Saturday 25th April.
The team went unbeaten all day without conceding a single goal. In the group stages in the first game, Cwm beat Valley Blades 2-0 then drew 0-0 with Cwmbach before beating Grasshoppers ‘B’ 2-0.
These results were enough to win the group and progress into the final group which included Abercwmboi, Carnetown & Llwydcoed. In the first game Cwm drew 0-0 with Abercwmboi then beat Carnetown 1-0 in they’re second game. The results left Cwmaman going into their final game against Llwydcoed needing a win and Llwydcoed only needing a draw.
Cwm started strongly and continued to have the lions share of possession and went on to win the game 2-0 and deservedly win the tournament in style.
Once again a big thank you to all the players listed below who were part of the team in their last season at under 11’s.

On a final note, good luck to Saskia Wickham for the future who has been an excellent servant to Cwmaman junior football but unfortunately now has to play for a girls team at Under 12’s level and upwards. Good Luck and thanks for all the goals!!
